Charlene Espinoza is a founding director of Bosh Bosh and a former Peace Corps Volunteer that served in Liberia for three years. Charlene holds a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts of Interior Design and initially worked as a commercial designer at an architecture design firm before joining the Peace Corps and being deployed to Liberia. The idea for Bosh Bosh grew out of her Peace Corps experience when, during initial efforts to improve the female dropout rate, she realized that many problems resulted from lack of funds. Since returning from Peace Corps, she has been invited by Brookings Institution to discuss community-led projects that focused on girl’s education, and was recently recognized at the White House by the President and First Lady of the United States for her involvement with Peace Corps and Bosh Bosh during the launching of Michelle Obama’s new Initiative Let Girls Learn.
